THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

More than fifty of you fine folks filled Mother Egan's for a three-way to remember. (Actually, it was just a three-way birthday party to celebrate John, April and Elise's combined 106th birthday on February 17th.) But call it what you will. We're calling it great times had by all.

Here's a John sandwich! That's me, Elise, on the left, John in the middle, and April on the right.

I didn't get photos of everyone, as it is hard to document an evening and participate in the festivities. Huge regret - not getting a shot of State Rep. J0e Deshotel, D-Houston, who stopped by in an excellent cowboy hat to wish us a happy birthday before he headed home to his district.

As I write captions for these, note that I will use asterisks or other punctuation symbols in place of letters, at times. This is to protect these photos from becoming googled when someone googles your name.

Baby Victoria Str@ma just arrived four weeks ago, and she was one of the first to arrive at the Birthday Threeway. Rep. Str@ma joked, "This is her first three-way". That baby was one amazing sleeper. She slept the whole time she was at the bar.

Since Victoria was asleep, we mugged for the camera with her proud parents, M@rk and Cryst@l.

April visits with City Councilman Brewster McCr@cken, who stopped by and spent much of the evening talking about things like Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones with anyone who would listen. (Kidding, Councilman.)

The Statesman's Corr!e McClaggan chats up some friends, I don't know what they're talking about here but it's probably not HPV.

Consultant Bill Miller was the first to show up, so we got a shot with him before he took off.

Houston Chronicle represents!!! The Chronicle reporters Kristen M@ck and M@tt Stiles. (Technically, Matt and Kristen, Houston is on the EAST side of Austin...)

I catch DMN ladies K@ren Brooks and Emily R@mshaw, along with another R@mshaw (Emily's dad) by surprise...

Then April wanted a photo of the two of us excluding M0ritz. Sorry, John.

Chuck McD0nald chats it up with Ramshaw's mom and Dad, who are also journalists.

Group shot! Some dudes talking...

The Express-News' L!sa Sandberg, Corrie and her husband Oliver, and The Quorum Report's H@rvey Kronberg.

This looks like a toothpaste ad or something, I think I need to get some sort of award for party photography. The Statesman's J@son Embry, The Quorum Report's J0hn Reynolds, Kinky spokesgal L@ura Stromberg and The Morning News' K@ren Brooks.

April mugs with some Star-Telegram guys -- Jack and Jake "RA" Dy*r.

Here John and Laura pose like they did for their senior photos in high school...

Since April and I excluded John from our last picture, John mugs with his lovely ladyfriend, Michelle.

J@y Root with the Star Telegram only allowed one photo of him all night, so I went with this one, with his mouth agape, talking to Laura.

Layl@n Copelin with The Statesman does the "lean-in".

Man, more beautiful people. AP's Liz Aust!n Peterson, flanked by her husband D@vid and Linds@y Kluever from the Center for Public Policy Pri0rities.

Chris Bell campaign manager J@son Stanf0rd flanked by John Reynolds and the SA Express News' Lis@ Sandberg.

Statesmen! Laylan and his wife, Jason and his friend Amanda.

Str@ma and McCr@cken. I'm guessing they're talking about childcare or something here.

This was our STAR guest of the evening. Vernon, the guy who opens the door to the House floor every single day, showed up to celebrate! Here's Vernon and Harvey.

Thanks again to all who came, and again, sorry if I didn't get a photo of you during the night. Thanks also for stopping by to see the pictures! Right click to save!!!

See you next February 17th, when we turn 109!
